The Special Minister of State, Gary Gray, said today the Commonwealth Ombudsman needed to reflect on the wisdom of his recent actions and the appropriate response.
“He should reflect on the fact that there are appropriate ways in which he can be heard and these have been used quite successfully in the past,” Mr Gray said.
“The Ombudsman should always act to ensure there is full public confidence in him and his Office. Independence, impartiality and integrity are key values to the Office.”
Mr Gray has Ministerial responsibility for the office.
