Consultant for The Lodge refurbishment appointed

Special Minister of State Gary Gray today announced HBO+EMTB Architects (ACT) Pty Ltd had been awarded the design services contract for refurbishing The Lodge.

Mr Gray said the company would:

• Prepare tender documentation for slate required for the roof replacement ,
• Design the scope of works, and
• Develop cost plans.

Mr Gray said that The Lodge was an 84-year old heritage-listed building that required essential works be undertaken to preserve and prevent further deterioration of the building.

He said the Government has a duty of care to maintain the property to ensure a safe environment for the Prime Minister and the staff who work there.

Mr Gray said the tender process was conducted through the Australian Government's Tender System AusTender [].
