Ms Annwyn Godwin has been reappointed as Merit Protection Commissioner for a further five year term, taking effect from January 25.
Minister for the Public Service and Integrity Gary Gray said today that Ms Godwin had performed impressively and diligently and was respected by her colleagues for her mature, fair judgement and professionalism.
Ms Godwin joined the Australian Public Service in 1990 and has extensive executive experience in corporate and staffing related fields. She has a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from Melbourne University with majors in Australian Politics and History and a Masters of Business Administration from the Australian Graduate School of Management at the University of NSW.
“The office of Merit Protection Commissioner plays an important role in providing assurance through review and education in key areas of the Australian Public Service (APS) employment framework,” Mr Gray said.
“It ensures that the APS values are being applied effectively by agencies, their agency heads and staff.”
The role of Merit Protection Commissioner is covered by the Government’s Merit and Transparency Guidelines, which do not require a selection process when an incumbent is reappointed. The original appointment was based on a competitive merit process.| Media Contact: | Website: |
