Chris Evans has been a terrific Senator for Western Australia and outstanding Cabinet Minister, Special Minister of State Gary Gray said today.
“Chris has been a great contributor to the Labor Party and the movement,” Mr Gray said.
“He has been the Leader of the Government in the Senate through difficult times and has managed this role admirably.
“As ALP State Secretary he provided stability during the uncertain years of the early 1990s and the defeat of the Lawrence State Government.
“Chris’ career has culminated with a solid contribution as a Cabinet Minister, and I wish him well.”
